The Transit Connect is available in three trim levels, making it easy to find a passenger van that meets your needs. While the XL model is substantial, it's also sleek and stylish, announcing its arrival with a black three-bar grille. You'll also find black bumpers, black mirror caps, and black door handles. The XLT features a five-bar grille with a chrome surround, body-colored accents, and halogen fog lamps. The Titanium's five-bar grille is flanked by high-intensity headlights and LED fog lights. This top trim also comes with power-folding side mirrors with heating functionality. Exterior color options include Dark Blue, Sedona Orange, and Race Red.
Engine
If you're looking for a passenger van that will help you power through your day, the Transit Connect won't let you down. Pop open the Transit Connect's hood, and you'll find a 2.0-liter GDI I-4 engine that generates 162 horsepower and 144 pound-feet of torque. With that much power, you can use your Transit Connect to tow 2,000 pounds. If you add the Engine Prep Package, available on the Transit Connect XL, your passenger van will come with a 2.5-liter iVCT I-4 engine that can run on natural gas or propane autogas. It puts out 161 horsepower and 171 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
The Transit Connect is built to perform. Ford pairs the GDI engine with an eight-speed SelectShift transmission, while the iVCT engine teams up with a six-speed SelectShift transmission. Both systems enable smooth acceleration and effortless handling. An independent MacPherson strut front suspension and twist-beam rear suspension come standard on all models, reducing road impact to make your ride more comfortable. The Transit Connect's turning diameter measures 40 feet, making it easier to squeeze into parking spaces and other tight spots.
