The New Ford F-250
Your truck should work as hard as you do, and the new Ford F-250 Super Duty does just that. Highlighted by impressive specifications in every facet of the design as well as plentiful maximum towing capacities, the F-250 has what you need. Here's what everyone keeps talking about on the Ford F-250.
Trim Levels
You can get the Ford F-350 in six trims: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited. The XL starts with quad dual-beam halogen headlights. Moving up to the XLT and selecting the crew cab configuration will give you a power moonroof. Halogen fog lights and powerscope trailer tow mirrors are among the features on the Lariat. Upgrading to the Platinum will get you power deployable running boards.
The upscale Limited adds an optional live-drive power takeoff. Are you looking to head off the beaten trail? Opt for the Tremor off-road package, which adds several off-road focused features such as a lift kit and off-road tires.
Engine
Three engines are available for the Ford F-250 Super Duty. The first is the base engine for all trims, a capable 6.2-liter V-8 making 385 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. Next, we have a 7.3-liter V-8 gas engine that produces 430 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque.
Lastly, we have the most powerful engine of the bunch, a 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 diesel that cranks out 475 horsepower and an impressive 1,050 pound-feet of torque. These engines are all mated to a six-speed automatic transmission standard, and a 10-speed automatic is available for most trim levels. For all trims, rear-wheel drive is standard, with four-wheel drive available.
Performance
If you're researching work trucks, arguably the most essential aspects are the maximum payload and towing capability. This will vary based on the trim, bed size, cab size, and engine you choose. With that being said, the highest maximum towing capacity available measures 24,000 pounds with a standard hitch and 37,000 pounds when connected via a fifth-wheel hitch. The maximum payload capacity is rated at 7,850 pounds.
Interior
As you enter the Ford F-250 Super Duty, you immediately see the balance of form and function. The base-level XL offers a 4-inch non-touch display to control the infotainment system. For the XLT, there is an 8-inch touch screen that includes a Wi-Fi hot spot and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.
The upper trims offer an upgraded 12.0-inch landscape touchscreen. If you want to rock out while at work or play, opt for the 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium stereo system. Lastly, starting at the Lariat trim, you get upgrades like wireless charging, ambient lighting, leather trim, ventilated and heated front seats, along with massaging seats.
Safety Features
Ford knows how important safety is when purchasing a vehicle, and the Ford F-350 is no exception. The safety features are highlighted by blind-spot monitoring, which also is effective when towing a trailer. The optional features are lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. In the unfortunate event of a crash, the advanced air bags and a strong frame are there to protect you.
